In 1986 Queen reached the peak of their live dimension with the Magic Tour, culminating in the historic Live at Wembley '86. Led by Freddie Mercury's charisma, the band turned its repertoire into a collective ritual blending art rock, arena pop and sheer spectacle. Conceived to celebrate the group's fifteenth anniversary, that tour also proved to be the last with the classic line-up, just a few years before Mercury's passing.
From the legacy of that show — as overwhelming as it is iconic — comes "A Kind of Magic", Lydian's project. Reproducing that legendary concert is, needless to say, impossible: hence the idea of revisiting the historic Magic Tour repertoire in a free, conscious homage, capturing the essence of that unique musical language and giving it back through a contemporary personality and sensibility.
The full set is approximately two hours, divisible into two 60-minute sets with a short break. Suited to theatre concerts, festivals, open-air squares and private events.
Queen's great classics, live as at Wembley.
The repertoire of "A Kind of Magic" runs through the songs that made the Magic Tour and Live at Wembley '86 legendary: Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions, Radio Ga Ga, A Kind of Magic, We Will Rock You, Hammer to Fall, Another One Bites the Dust and many more. Arrangements crafted in detail to recreate the band's iconic sounds, with room for a live, spontaneous interpretation that makes every evening unique.
