Bologna
A grandfather, once a circus clown, and Stefano, his nephew facing the crisis of his forties. In an old Fiat 500 from Bologna to Sardinia — not an itinerary driven by haste or caution, but the stations of a journey of faith, passing through the places where the grandfather received his sacraments.
A journey through time as well: from the present back to the day he became Christian at his baptism. The stories the grandfather tells along the way spring from a life with all the hallmarks of a clown's measured fall — but seen through the pages of Scripture, they become unexpected occasions to reflect, to be moved, or to smile.
The script is published by Pardes Edizioni (Bologna). The original music, written and performed by Mauro Ghilardini, Francesco Maffeis and Jurij Roncan, is collected on the CD «In Viaggio», the show's soundtrack.
...and God in the heavens laughs.
A show that crosses the sacred with lightness and depth at once. The structure of the physical journey — Bologna, the roads, Sardinia — becomes a metaphor for an inner path. Bruno Nataloni brings to life a character who knows falling, absurdity and grace: a clown who met God without losing his sense of humour. The original music accompanies the story like a second voice, never merely decorative.
